I Witness Silwan’s New Campaign:
LOOK PALESTINIANS IN THE EYE
Look Palestinians in the Eye* is a grassroots campaign that utilizes cultural interventions, direct action, and political education. It mobilizes artists, organizers, faith-based communities, and people of conscience to confront U.S. complicity in the ethnic cleansing of Palestine. The campaign connects the fight for justice in Palestine to global movements for justice. Through interventions, direct action, and political education. Our deep roots in Palestine and resistance movements, our campaign is strategically aligned with global struggles against settler colonialism and state violence.

Campaign Targets Include
The Israeli Tourism Industry: Silwan was renamed "City of David" by the Israeli State–a biblical theme park which receives over 1 million tourists a year who have no idea they are in an ancient Palestinian town. The theme park profits from and promotes the displacement of Palestinians and Zionist narratives, which deny Palestinian history and existence.
Settler Organizations: “Non-profits” such as Ateret Cohanim and El Ad, supported by the Israeli state and U.S. funding, lead violent evictions and dubious land claims.
Christian Zionists: Christian zionists in the U.S. play a major role by funding, lobbying for, and visiting Silwan, believing that Jewish colonization of Palestine fulfills biblical prophecy.
Politicians like Mike Huckabee, who are financially connected to this effort.
International companies like HD Hyundai are complicit by supplying equipment used to demolish Palestinian homes in Silwan.
How can you take action to support Silwan?

Digital art by @Nadasink: During my visit to Palestine in 2022, I came upon Silwan, a neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem, while standing on an opposite hill miles away. I noticed a sea of painted eyes peering up at me over rooftops.
